I don't work for the VA. But have been a health care provider/worker for many years and have worked with veterans. (not being a veteran myself did make that difficult) but that's not the point here. It is my experience that, to often is the case, anyone that finds themselves introduced to any health care facility, be it Veterans, psychiatric or other do not get the professional help they should. Most often the higher the degree a professional has at these facilities the less a patient will actually see them in the coarse of their stay. The "Health care worker" is who the patient will see daily and this "worker" is most often either under paid, over worked, overwhelmed, and burnt out or all the above. This opens the door for hiring workers that are under educated and pretty much useless. This by no means implies that all "health care workers" don't give a damn... usually they are the only ones that do, if you give them a chance. But as stated "it's a business" to the higher ups and it seems to often nobody on the lower rungs wins...

My job and experience plus your problems, needs and especially experience should mean something. But this country is falling short when it comes to anyone that does the dirty work... unfortunately there is to many of us on the bottom rungs making us all expendable and forgettable.

Especially doesn't make much sense when you are qualified to take bullet but then not get a job or the help you need... But then again in this free market how much does a bullet and burial cost?
